Aftermath of a Wedding Fair

First off: My apologies for dropping of the face of the earth – blogging wise – for most of January. As Vancouver wedding photographers, doing wedding shows is a must, and the whole team has been incredibly busy preparing for the 37th Annual Wedding Fair at the Westin Bayshore on January 12th and 13th.
This year, we re-designed practically everything: Handouts, booth, promotional materials and our packages. Hence, the week leading up to the show Nirvana and I were picking up boxes from the printer, frequenting the local U-Haul and Home-Depot locations and putting the finishing touches on the booth.
Friday morning: Early start, pick up and load the U-Haul with the booth and all the print material, pick up the furniture and drive to the Westin. The loading dock is a madhouse, with all the vendors trying to unload and squeeze their stuff into the hotel. I still wonder how they got the limo in there? Anyway…
Four hours later we are all set, tested and ready to go. We chat with some of the vendors around us, then team huddle, and we all go home to catch up on some sleep as we have an early start.
The rest of the weekend was fun. A lot of work, but fun! Lots of fun stories of how couples met and how he proposed. Lots of tears and laughter. We were fortunate to connect with a lot of wonderful  people. Thankfully, our amazing brand representative – Grace – helped us out a lot, allowing us to spend a lot of time with each of the couples coming into our booth.
We are now almost booked for the year, and already booked a few destination weddings for 2015. Very exciting.
Please stay tuned for upcoming news. We finally finished renovating the studio, and will have an open house just before we leave for WPPI at the end of February. Also, we will have a lot of specials and great deal coming up. If you haven’t done so, please sign up for our newsletter, or like us on Facebook, which is the best way to stay informed about what’s going on at Nirvana Photography Studios.
