Trending colors for your wedding dress in 2013

For centuries, the white wedding dress was a tradition but in 2013 we’re about to witness some dramatic changes. The brides will shine in bold, powerful colors like red and oxblood, or they will glow in soft and gentle shades of mint, ivory, nude pink or beige.

The white wedding dress, originated in Europe, was usually associated with Queen Victoria, who chose to marry Prince Albert in a white bridal gown. Since then it’s been two centuries and most women today still wear white on their wedding day, associating it with purity and grace.

But since weddings are not as traditional as they used to be, fashion designers all over the world decided to introduce some of their craziest and most original ideas and express them on the runway, showing us the most unusual wedding dresses.

In the spring of 2013, we’ll see bridal collections like the Vera Wang bridal collection 2013, which will shock but also amaze you. You’ll see great designs, spectacular dresses, but also some unusual colors like different shades of red, from oxblood to strong bright red.

If you still want the traditional white dress but you also want to give it a little color and originality, you can go for a classic black & white dress by Carolina Herrera or Isaac Mizahi. The spring of 2013 will also bring some of the most feminine and soft colors. Different shades of pink will be present in Maggie Sotero’s collection and also on Lazaro’s runway.

By far one of the most luxurious and precious colors on the runways this fall was green mint. The minty wedding dresses from Romona Keveza Couture were a hit, so you’ll be able to see more minty bridal gowns by Zuhair Murad, Reem Acra and Elie Saab in the spring to come.
