Scandinavian megaretailer Ikea is entering the camera market. Belated April fools joke? Well, not quite… more like a fun, promotional give-away.
Product designer Jesper Kouthoofd of Teenage Engineering A.B. build what they describe as the “world’s cheapest cardboard camera”.
It’s clearly an “Ikea design”, with a quirky, hard-to-pronounce name – KNÄPPA – and Ikea-style assembly instructions. Oh yes! Some assembly required! Two plastic thumbscrews need to be removed and replaced so you can pop in a pair of AAA batteries 🙂
